Design. The design process begins with a complimentary consultation either by email, phone or in person. This initial meeting gives us an opportunity to get to know you, your personal style and any ideas you may already have. It is also a time to answer any questions you may have about Cali Cards’ commitment to branding your journey through life in a creative and unique way.
Cali Cards is all about keeping the process fun and simple! Once your project details are determined, we will prepare a price quote based on your project requirements and you will be provided with a contract that identifies the total cost and estimated time schedule for the project. Please note that the design will only begin after we have received a signed contract and a payment of 50% of the total estimated cost.
Final Approval. Cali Cards will present an initial design for your review. We will discuss the design and any changes you may wish to make. Once the changes are integrated, the design will be submitted for your final approval. If no other changes are required and the design is perfect, a signed copy of the Final proof must be emailed or faxed back with your signature. This signature verifies that every detail is perfect: the layout, type style, spelling, grammar and punctuation. Once approved, Cali Cards is not responsible for any future changes or mistakes.
Production. Production will begin upon receipt of the signed Final Proof and the remaining 50% of the invoice. All of Cali Card creations are professionally printed and each invitation is meticulously assembled. Upon completion we will contact you to pick up your order, mail it for you using our “white glove service” or have it shipped to you via UPS.
Timing. Due to the fact that all Cali Card creations are hand crafted, the entire process can take anywhere from 2-6 months depending on the complexity of the design. We can create a design within a month, however a rush fee will be charged. So it is important to book your consultation as early as possible.
Things to keep in mind:
We suggest mailing your Save The Dates 5-7 months prior to the wedding date (7-10 months for destination weddings or a large percentage of out-of-town guests)
We recommend mailing the wedding invitations 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding date (8-10 weeks for destination weddings or a large percentage of out-of-town guests)
Mailing Service. Cali Cards provides a “white glove service” for its clients. This is just one more step that we can do to make it easier for you. We will mail out the invitations for you, saving you the cost of shipping the completed invitation package to you, as well as saving you time and the hassle of stamping and mailing them yourself.
Pricing. Each custom price quote is dependent on the size, material and complexity of the final design suite. Therefore, each custom order must be quoted individually.
As a basis, flat and pocketfold invitations start at $1200 for 100 sets. Couture, fabric folio and silk/paper box invitations start at $2000 for 100 sets. Save the dates start at $4 per card.

Location. The Cali Cards process allows you access from any location. However, if you are a Cali girl, our office is located in Encinitas, California. We can easily make arrangements to meet you.
Refunds. All of our products are custom designed and hand crafted to your approval and refunds will not be honored. In the event of cancellation, all costs incurred to date are billable. A $75 per hour design fee will apply.
