The motivation for Cali Cards came from an unlikely source. While serving as a Naval Aviator on an aircraft carrier, Tiffany Lord Arnaldo began making greeting cards to send to family and friends during the long deployments. Her designs were inspired by the colors and textures of the silk fabrics and freshly ground spice markets in Asia, India and the Middle East. No drab military khaki for Tiffany!

Soon after she began planning her own wedding and couldn't find any invitations that were full of color, personality and life. She didn't want your run of the mill invitations, she wanted it to reflect herself. So... she made her own. The invitations not only caught the attention of Tiffany's guests, but her wedding planner and future brides. Cali Cards was born!

Kathryn Scott and Tiffany met in design school and immediately became friends and collaborators during their time at The Design Institute of San Diego.  With Kathryn's background in business, Tiffany's leadership in the Navy, and both loving the design process, they were destined to run a company whose emphasis is custom creation.

Kathryn having studied and performed ballet for 24 years, went on to become a retail buyer, General Merchandise manager, and ultimately Vice President of Marketing for retail and technology companies.  These experiences immersed her in the creation of compelling graphics to market products she helped develop.  Ultimately, however, the lack of creativity in the senior management positions motivated Kathryn to enroll in Interior Design School.  Up until joining Cali Cards, she has been active as a residential interior designer.  But the appeal of working in the graphic design world, and with Tiffany again, was too tempting; she joined Cali Cards to help expand and grow the business nationwide.
