Eco-Friendly Wedding Invitation
Trying to create a “green” wedding invitation in my business is tough as it is a paper driven industry and trying to get a low carbon footprint is difficult. But I think I created the perfect solution for the eco conscious bride. An invitation that is cradle to cradle. The guests receive a seed paper invitation that can be planted in their garden where an assortment of wild flowers will grow to remind them of your special day. (This really does work, I got the paper to sprout within two weeks!) They mail the RSVP postcard back to you were it is shredded, placed in a biodegradable plastic bag and set in a small terra cotta pot for the placecards at the wedding reception. Minimal waste!
This invitation and RSVP postcard were created on seed paper from a local company in San Diego, Greenfield Paper Company and printed with soy based inks. The embellishment beads were used from old beaded jewelry that I cut up and saved and tied with hemp string. The accent paper is a handmade paper though not locally made look gorgeous with it and ties all the information together.
